“You have Multiple Myeloma.”
I remember hearing the doctor say those words to my wife and feeling something heavy settle over us. Life suddenly became uncertain. The months that followed were a mix of hope, exhaustion, and deep reflection — a season that tested everything I thought I knew about strength.

I’m grateful to say my wife now has no detectable cancer. But the experience changed me. It revealed something I hadn’t fully understood before: the greatest battles aren’t with stressors themselves, but with how we choose to respond to them.

The Real ‘Every Man’s Battle’
As a licensed psychologist for the past 18 years, I’ve sat with hundreds of men facing anger, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, marital conflict, depression, and more. Beneath every one of those struggles, I kept seeing the same underlying pattern — avoidance driven by a lack of calm, courage, and the skillfulness needed to effectively engage the stressors in their lives.

These are some common examples of avoidance that show up in subtle ways:
• Staying on the sidelines because it feels safer than risking failure
• Turning to porn or substances to numb emotions instead of facing them
• Avoiding transparency and vulnerability because we’re afraid of looking weak
• Filling every quiet moment with screens to escape boredom and silence
• Saying “yes” when we mean “no” to avoid conflict

These patterns become so normal we barely notice them — until something in our life demands more from us than our current patterns can support.

What Happens When Men Find Their True Strength
I realized that in order to move forward, I had to face the uncertainty and the possibility of losing my wife to cancer. But before I could do that, I needed to access a deeper sense of calm and courage rooted in God’s presence. As I did, I noticed that the uncertainty no longer controlled me, and I found myself able to show up with strength — both for others and for myself.

In my work, I’ve seen that same breakthrough time and again. When men finally address what’s been holding them back, find their calm and courage, they come alive. They become more grounded, more present, and more confident.

As that shift happens, the things that once felt overwhelming—anger, anxiety, addictive patterns, and relational tension—begin to loosen their grip. Careers shift. Marriages soften. Faith deepens. We finally begin to see who we truly are.

Witnessing this transformation repeatedly led me to a single question: How can I help more men experience this?
That question became the seed of something new.

The Man Seminar: Calm. Courage. A New Way Forward.
I took the tools and insights a man gains over months of therapy and built them into a single, high‑impact day — a day designed to help men find a new calm, courage and true strength that is built on 5 pillars.

1. The Science of the Battle: Drawing on the neurobiology of the stress response, we'll look at the scientific foundation of how stress rewires our brains and, more importantly, how we can reverse that process and find our calm.

2. The Front Lines: Built on my 18 years of experience sitting with hundreds of men, we'll identify the common fears, narratives, and patterns of behavior that are not allowing you to handle your stressors effectively.

3. The Spiritual Compass: We'll lean on the disciplines of prayer, meditation, and Scripture to provide a framework for true grounding and transformation.

4. Comrades in Arms: Through targeted questions, exercises, and group processing, we’ll incorporate peer to peer support to help you internalize and apply the day’s teachings.

5. The Sacred Ground: Physical presence is non-negotiable. There is a unique power in shared space. By gathering in person, we'll move beyond digital screens to create an environment where true breakthroughs can happen.
